AIM Community Placemaking Award
Lawrenceburg Civic Park

Accelerate Indiana Municipalities (Aim) announced Lawrenceburg has earned an AIM Community Placemaking Award for its Lawrenceburg Civic Park project.

The city was honored with this award earlier this month at the virtual 2020 AIM Ideas Summit during the Annual Awards Program – presented by Baker Tilly Municipal Advisors, LLC.

The award was made in recognition of the beautiful Lawrenceburg Civic Park created in historic downtown Lawrenceburg.  In an area that used to be two paved parking lots, the City of Lawrenceburg revitalized the community space into a state of the art performance stage with sound system, screen and rear projection television, public family restroom and green room, splash pad, public Wi-Fi and large green spaces for outdoor entertainment and relaxing.  The Lawrenceburg Civic Park and stage serve as the annual signature piece for the popular “Music on the River” concert series, the Lawrenceburg Fall Music Fest and many other community events.

Aim CEO Matt Greller said, “I am always excited to see what city leaders in Lawrenceburg are going to do next to attract talent and new businesses to their community. The Lawrenceburg Civic Park is their latest quality of place project and I am certain it will be a home run in the community’s ongoing placemaking efforts.”

Mayor Kelly Mollaun – “While Indiana’s major metropolitan cities often take center stage, smaller cities such as the City of Lawrenceburg have a culture, vibrancy and uniqueness all their own.  The City of Lawrenceburg, Indiana is a community dedicated to improving the lives of its residents with a focus on economic development, workforce, education, housing, quality of life initiatives and tourism.  The Lawrenceburg Civic Park has been the wheel hub turning each of these spokes forward.  The Lawrenceburg Civic Park as an AIM Community Placemaking Awardee is quite an honor and much appreciated.”

The City of Lawrenceburg, Indiana is a dedicated community partner in supporting local businesses and non-profit organizations, exceptional educational opportunities and award-winning recreational outlets as a vital economic investment in quality of life experiences for all citizens and visitors.
