Lawrenceburg Emergency Rescue was formed in 1951 with a single ambulance. In 1991, LERU moved into a new building stationed on U.S. 50 with 2 ambulances and a rescue vehicle. LERU has gone through many changes over the years, including being relocated to 300 West Tate street – Station 400 – and progressing from an all-volunteer BLS squad to having full-time 24hr paramedic coverage. LERU responds to more than 2100 calls per year and gladly assists surrounding communities with ALS back up.
