CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG TEAMS UP WITH ALTAFIBER TO TAKE FIBER INTERNET SERVICE TO THE NEXT LEVEL

CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, Indiana December 19th , 2022: The City of Lawrenceburg and altafiber have announced an agreement to take the current Lawrenceburg fiber data system even further, with new
video and phone services, free wi-fi in the City’s parks, along with reduced and in some cases, free internet service for eligible low-income customers.

“The City of Lawrenceburg has been committed to ensuring local fiber internet service was available to serve our community. Investments we’ve made in fiber put Lawrenceburg on the cutting edge with respect to high-speed broadband connectivity. The time has come to take our local broadband internet technology to the next level with additional services and the most up to date technology at affordable rates for our residents and local businesses,” said Mayor Kelly Mollaun.

altafiber, formerly known as Cincinnati Bell, is a Cincinnati-based technology company that will acquire Lawrenceburg Broadband Communications’ broadband infrastructure, which provides high-speed
Internet connectivity to residential, commercial, and municipal customers. altafiber delivers integrated communications solutions to residential and business customers in Greater Cincinnati, Dayton, and Southeast Indiana.

The transition to altafiber is expected to take between 6 – 8 months. Customers can continue to sign up for LBC internet service. There will be no disruption in internet service during the transition with excellent customer service remaining a top priority. The City of Lawrenceburg will continue to keep the community informed as changes take place.
