LPD to Lead Multi-Jurisdictional Public Safety Training Exercise 6-3-21 – Complete

TRAINING COMPLETE. LPD ACTIVE SHOOTER TRAINING EXERCISE AT LAWRENCEBURG HIGH SCHOOL HAS BEEN CONCLUDED. THIS WAS A TRAINING EXERCISE ONLY WITH EMERGENCY RESPONSE PLAN IN PLACE. THERE WAS NO ACTUAL THREAT AT LHS.

The Lawrenceburg Police Department and the Lawrenceburg Community School Corporation will host an Active Shooter Joint Readiness Training
Exercise on Thursday, June 3rd at the Lawrenceburg High School between 3:00 pm – 10:30 pm.

Please note that this simulation will include Instructor controlled scenario TRAINING EXERCISES ONLY with an Emergency Response Plan in place. There will be no actual threat at the Lawrenceburg High School during this public safety training exercise and school is not in session. LHS students, faculty, and parents will be participating in the training scenarios.

Life Safety is always the priority. The Active Shooter Joint Readiness Training Exercise will focus on communications, mobilization, practical response protocols, debriefing and skills training to include Communications & Radio Protocols, F.A.T.S., Deliberate/Dynamic Clearing
& Entry Methods, as well as, Door Breeching, Fire Extinguisher Simulation/Safety Training.

Agencies participating in the Active Shooter Joint Readiness Training Exercise include the Lawrenceburg Police Department, Lawrenceburg Fire Department, Lawrenceburg EMS, Greendale Police Department, Greendale Fire Department, Greendale EMS, Aurora Police Department, Aurora Fire Department, Aurora EMS, Dearborn County Sheriff’s Department, Dearborn County Prosecutor’s Office, Indiana State Police, Dearborn County 911 Dispatch, Dearborn County Emergency Management Agency, UC Air Care, St. Elizabeth Hospital Dearborn, City of Lawrenceburg Mayors Office & City Departments, as well as, Lawrenceburg Utility Department.

During a real emergency incident, it is critical to keep the main Ingress and Egress routes clear for public safety, first responders and emergency vehicles to safely respond to the scene ASAP. Please PULL OVER OR STOP to allow access to roadways for emergency responders as time is of the essence in a real emergency.
