Oct 9th – 15th Fire Prevention Week

Oct 9th – 15th, 2022 is the 100th Anniversary of Fire Prevention Week:

Fire is FAST and won’t wait. Every second counts so Plan 2 Ways Out! Plan ahead so all family members and friends know what to do in the event of a house fire.

Plan 2 Ways Out Of Every Room: A simple step to help ensure you make it out of a house fire safely is to create a map of your home’s layout, indicate two potential exits for every room and then practice escaping.

Fire Escape Plans Save Lives: Do you have a fire escape plan that your family practices regularly? Once you have a fire escape plan, it is important to practice by having a home fire drill at least twice a year with everyone in the home. Practice a fire escape plan before a disaster ever happens.

Be Sure To Test Smoke Alarms: If there is a fire in your home, you could have less than 2 minutes to get out safely once the smoke alarm sounds. Be sure to test your smoke alarms monthly and replace the batteries every 3 months to stay safe!
