City of Lawrenceburg COVID-19 Public Health Emergency Response

Develop policies and procedures to minimize the spread of COVID-19 regionally while still allowing the City of Lawrenceburg to continue to provide critical services for our constituents.

  • Citywide Access Plan temporarily restricting non-emergency public access to all City owned buildings & playgrounds effective 3-16-2020
  • City of Lawrenceburg Emergency Work Rules Policy established effective 3-23-2020
    • Maintained public inquiries and response from all City/LMU departments without interruption
    • Determination of essential and non-essential staff departmental duties with alternate work shifts
    • Telework duties established as designated by the Mayor
  • Lawrenceburg City Court worked with the City of Lawrenceburg’s Executive Administration, local emergency management and the Indiana Supreme Court’s Office of Judicial Administration, modifying the Court’s operating procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of both the public and the Court staff.
    • Maintained required court operations
    • Bench Trials and Hearings rescheduled after May 4, 2020
    • City Court payments may be mailed or processed online at www.public.courts.in.gov
    • City Court to resume June 17th 2020
  • City of Lawrenceburg established Public Health Emergency Economic Relief Fund $1 million
    • Public Health Emergency Small Business Grant – 77 grant awards $269,500
    • Residential LMU Utility Bill Forgiveness May & June 2020 (H2O, Sewer & Electric) $700,000
    • Waived LMU utility disconnections until further notice

  • Ensure safe, healthy workplace controls and protective measures for employees & citizens are in place

  • LMU Utility drive thru continues to be open 8 am -4:30 pm with online bill payment & Smarthub app available
  • Lawrenceburg Police, Fire & EMS continue to provide exceptional public safety & emergency response 24-7

  • City Administration Offices remain closed to public.  Intercom access on City Hall main lobby door for in-person meetings may resume while following social distancing protocols.  Appointments are available.  Call 812-532-3500
  • Limited Public Access to government buildings with efforts to allow the public to attend Public Meetings/Public Hearings  virtually via live stream at https://www.youtube.com/user/LawrenceburgIN  After June 14th Public Meeting access to continue with social distancing protocols in place
  • Civil City crews accelerate Safe, Clean & Healthy efforts to ensure all municipal facilities, recreational outlets and playgrounds are ready for reopening May 24th
  • All City of Lawrenceburg and Lawrenceburg Main Street events start July 9th 2020 with social distancing protocols
