LMU ELECTRIC LINEMAN ASSIST WITH RECOVERY EFFORTS IN FLORIDA FROM HURRICANE IAN

As a member of the Indiana Municipal Electric Association (IMEA), Lawrenceburg Municipal Utilities (LMU) gladly participates in the IMEA Mutual Aid program in the event of a disaster by providing trained personnel and assistance when needed.

LMU Class A Electric Lineman Scott DeHamer and Jason Foutty traveled from Lawrenceburg last Thursday, September 29th, 2022 enroute to Florida to assist with recovery efforts following Hurricane Ian. LMU Electric Dept. Foreman Erik Webster shares that as of this morning, both DeHamer and Foutty stated that there is “total destruction” and that they would need to rebuild power lines with all new poles and conductors. Currently LMU Electric Lineman DeHamer and Foutty are in New Smyrna Beach as part of the IMEA Mutual Aid request. There is no indication yet how long they will be in the area at this point.

LMU Director Billy Kinnett shared “We are thankful to be able to help people out in their time of need. The storm effects of Hurricane Ian has changed people lives and disrupted their world severely. It’s great to see so many good people coming together to help.”
